Antenatal classes are held four times a year at the Otorohanga Parents Centre building in Kakamutu St, Otorohanga. They are funded by the Waikato District Health Board and are offered free to all pregnant women and their partners.

Antenatal classes are a good way to meet people in your area who are pregnant and to have ongoing contact for support and friendship after your baby has arrived.

One local mother told me the classes were for middle age, middle class pregnant couples, so I was apprehensive about attending. However I’m glad I didn’t listen to that ill-informed person, and I thoroughly enjoyed every class!
